Catching the Fever Forever

'Oh God! Save, I m falling down', I screamed at the top of my lungs! How can I dare to forget the day when I tried out that sport in the beachland of Goa. When I looked down, I thought I would die....I acted so funny that I started recalling my parents and my sis! But, now when I sit down and realize what I did, I burst into laughter. Don't worry no one had kidnapped me or trying to kill me I had experienced the parasailing, one of the water sports in Goa and guess what I thought I won't return! Trust me that day I saw the beauty at its peak! From up there, the curves of the ghats, the green palm-fringed trees and the golden coast looked as if it was trying to ask you who's looking the best? It was a tough choice and I failed to decide which view was the most enticing one!

Parasailing gave me immense joy! I loved it and I think I had seen the whole Goa in the best possible way! From up there I'd seen the rivers run down from ghats in a beautiful manner. I'd seen the force of Arabian sea pushes into these short-lived rivers to create magical backwaters. I 'd seen the kite circulating in the dense plantations in the foothills. Off the coast I enjoyed watching tiny islands hiding coral reefs and crowded with marine life. I had an incredible time parasailing around Sinqueruim-Candolim-Calangute.

As I love speed, I tried out Jet Skiing too. With a pretty uncomplicated machine and along with an operator I tried it out. It was a pre-defined area and i was charged Rs 2500 for 30 min jet-ski ride. I was around Colva Beach and i 'd taken up it from Grand Resort at Rajbaga.

I'd heard that wind surfing is the most-difficult one as, it was non-mechanised. It tests your patience because it's a bit hard to learn. One of my friends, who tried it, told me that it would be better if, one takes up a short course of 2-3 days for learning it.

My friend wanted to try out something fast and powerful. So both of us tried out speed boat rides and it was......totally incredible. In just ten minutes, I explored the Goan coastline at Mobor and imagine I was surfing at a speed of 50 Mph and was tearing apart the waves of sea to make my journey an unending one. All major beaches like Calangute, Candolim, Arrossim, Utorda, Colva or Mobor have speed boat operators. So if you are comfortable with water then don't give second thoughts, just go for it.

Then we thought enough of water activities...we thought of something really strenuous. We thought of trekking. We climbed up the very beautiful Sahyahdri Hills on Western Ghats. Don't worry if too try it out, you'll be intimate with nature. We'd tried it out in December which is considered to be the best month for trekking so had a gala time while doing it. Next day we wanted to explore the hills of Valpoi and the best way we could make it possible was through hiking. It was a day trip and we were 7-8 people hiking. While trekking, I could make out that one needs to be really careful as I too checked out everything and stuck to the tested paths and stayed within my abilities.

One thing I concluded after experiencing these sports was - that no other place besides Goa provides such thrilling and adventourous trips. As I'd a different experience each day and not just the sea, but rivers and lakes make it a perfect place for aquatic fun. It's not just the water but the land of Goa is also for you to explore, go trekking, hiking or river crossing in the air and explore the untouched parcels of Goa. Apart from the water and land activities there are other options like dolphin and crocodile spotting, island trips etc.
