Introduction
Do you know tourists generally get confused between the Cabo Palace Fort
and the magnificently built Raj Bhavan? As, the fort has been transformed
into Raj Bhavan it is a bit hard to recognize it. But nevertheless, you'll
enjoy visiting this grandiose structure.
Location
Built in 1540 A.D, this fort is situated on the south headland of the river
Mandovi opposite Fort Aguada. The Cabo Fort is known severally in the modern
times as the Cabo Fort, Cabo Palace, Cabo Raj Niwas and even Raj Bhavan.
Currently, the house of the Governor's house, used to be the house of
Viceroy in colonial India.

Durbar Hall
This was official reception area used for the swearing ceremonies and other
official occasions.

House three suites and seven double rooms.
Collectibles
Bohemian chandeliers, Chinese porcelain, silver and a wide range of high
quality wooden furniture with delicate workmanship. The most unique are the
pieces of antique Chinese porcelain manufactured in Canton. There is also a
worn-out set of crockery having a similar design with same coat of arms. All
these had been specially ordered for the use of the Portuguese Governor
General. There is also a remarkable collection of high quality wooden
furniture with exquisite workmanship. A set of elaborately carved chairs are
simply excellent for the fact that Hindu Gods and Temples have been carved
on them.
Chapel
A small Chapel was constructed at the very end of the mansion, dedicated to
our virgin lady of the cape (Nossa Senhora do Cabo). It also served as a
turning point for the seamen.Every Wednesday, at around 11 a.m., Anjuna
breaks into a flood of colours. Huge number of tourists vehicles start
raising clouds of dust in its surroundings. Whatever one needs, from a used
paperback to a haircut, one would find it here. The flea market is a heaven
for hardcore shoppers and good bargainers, to bid on wonderful blends of
Tibetan, Kashmiri and Gujarati trinkets and handicrafts, European snacks,
cassettes of a noisy brand of music called 'Goa Trance', artificial
ornaments carvings and T-shirts.
How To Reach
From the Panjim Bus Stand, the location of Fort Aguada Beach Resort in Goa
is at a distance of around 15 kilometers and Fort Cabo is just opposite to
Fort Agauda. Tourists will find innumerable modes of transportation from
these places to the location of Fort Cabo in Goa.
