Do you know tourists generally get confused between the Cabo Palace Fort and the magnificently built Raj Bhavan? As, the fort has been transformed into Raj Bhavan it is a bit hard to recognize it. But nevertheless, you'll enjoy visiting this grandiose structure.

Location
Built in 1540 A.D, this fort is situated on the south headland of the river Mandovi opposite Fort Aguada. The Cabo Fort is known severally in the modern times as the Cabo Fort, Cabo Palace, Cabo Raj Niwas and even Raj Bhavan. Currently, the house of the Governor's house, used to be the house of Viceroy in colonial India.

Bohemian chandeliers, Chinese porcelain, silver and a wide range of high quality wooden furniture with delicate workmanship. The most unique are the pieces of antique Chinese porcelain manufactured in Canton. There is also a worn-out set of crockery having a similar design with same coat of arms. All these had been specially ordered for the use of the Portuguese Governor General. There is also a remarkable collection of high quality wooden furniture with exquisite workmanship. A set of elaborately carved chairs are simply excellent for the fact that Hindu Gods and Temples have been carved on them.Cabo Palace Fort

Chapel
A small Chapel was constructed at the very end of the mansion, dedicated to our virgin lady of the cape (Nossa Senhora do Cabo). It also served as a turning point for the seamen.Every Wednesday, at around 11 a.m., Anjuna breaks into a flood of colours. Huge number of tourists vehicles start raising clouds of dust in its surroundings. Whatever one needs, from a used paperback to a haircut, one would find it here. The flea market is a heaven for hardcore shoppers and good bargainers, to bid on wonderful blends of Tibetan, Kashmiri and Gujarati trinkets and handicrafts, European snacks, cassettes of a noisy brand of music called 'Goa Trance', artificial ornaments carvings and T-shirts.
